CODES

Redeeming a code

If someone sent you a Huginn code, this is how you use it. It takes about a minute, and it happens here on the website rather than in the app.

BEFORE YOU START

Don't subscribe inside the App Store if you have a code. Apple's subscription screen has nowhere to put one, so you'd be charged the full price and the code would go unused. Codes are redeemed on this website. If that has already happened to you, skip to the last section, it is fixable.

The four steps

1. Open the pricing page in a browser. huginnfilm.app/pricing. Your phone is fine, so is a computer. Just not the Huginn app.

2. Choose a plan and press Go Pro. If you aren't signed in yet, we'll ask you to Sign in with Apple first, then take you straight on to the payment page. Use the same Apple Account you use on your iPhone or iPad, because that is what connects the subscription to you.

3. On the payment page, find “Add promotion code”. Paste your code in and apply it. The total updates on the spot. If the code covers the whole subscription, the total reads $0 and you will not be asked for a card, because there is nothing to charge.

4. Open Huginn and sign in. Go to More and tap Huginn Pro. At the bottom of that page, tap Restore purchases, and sign in with that same Apple Account when asked. Pro turns on, on every device you use. This step is the one people miss: the purchase happened on the web, and signing in is what tells the app it belongs to you. If it keeps spinning, update Huginn to the latest version and try again.

What your code covers

Codes differ, and yours does what its sender said it does. A founder code generally covers Pro outright, for as long as you keep it. A discount code takes a percentage off. Either way, the checkout page shows you the real total before you confirm anything, so you never have to guess: if the number surprises you, stop there and ask the person who sent it.

Most codes are single use. Yours is yours, and passing it on usually means neither of you can use it.

If something goes wrong

You already subscribed in the App Store. This is the common one, and it is fixable. We can't refund an App Store purchase ourselves, because Apple handles that side of it directly, but you can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it on. Cancel the subscription too, under Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Then come back and redeem the code as above. Tell us what happened and we'll help however we can.

The code is refused. Check for a stray space at either end, and that you have the whole thing. If it still fails it may already have been redeemed, or it may have expired. Send us the code and we'll look it up.

You redeemed it, and the app still shows Free. Almost always this is two different Apple Accounts, one used on the website and another on the phone. In Huginn, open More, tap Huginn Pro, then Restore purchases, and sign in with the Apple Account you used at checkout. If that is the same one and Pro still hasn't appeared, write to us.

Anything else, or if you'd rather we just sorted it out for you: get in touch. A real person reads it.
